Oceanus resort is located in the west coast
of Koh Phangan at Thong Sala beach, a 2-km stretch of white sand. The resort can arrange surface transportation to and from any point in Suratthani and Chumphon provinces. Arrivals at Koh Samui Airport will be welcomed by our recommended and transferred by Catamaran Speed boat to the main port with a few minutes to the resort.

How to go to Koh Phangan?

Koh Pha-Ngan is most easily accessed via Koh Samui Airport though it is slightly cheaper to fly to the regional transport hub of Suratthani. From Koh Samui a fast boat takes only 20 minutes whereas the journey from the mainland takes around ten times longer. If you come overland, the overnight train is the best  option with a first class sleeper carriage ideal for families. Buses are the most economic choice with a trip from Bangkok costing only about 600 Baht, all the way to Koh Pha-Ngan. Ferry services are more or less hourly throughout the day from Koh Samui and every couple of hour from the main land; several boats also go regularly from Koh Tao.

Ferry
If you are coming to Koh Pha-Ngan from the mainland, buses, trains and planes all stop around Suratthani where you will be transferred to either a Suratthani jetty for the “Songserm” Ferry Service (3 ½hours to Koh Pha-Ngan) or to Donsak which is a 50 minute bus ride away. If you stay overnight in Suratthani, the hotel will book you a ferry, or alternatively head for “Phangan Tour” as they are the main agent for bus transfers to Koh Pha-Ngan. From Donsak two main services operate:
Seatran has a car ferry that leaves once daily also stops at Samui (3 ½ hrs).

Raja has a car ferry that goes direct to Koh Pha-Ngan that takes 2 ½ hours.
Seatran Ferry Raja Ferry

Ferry from Koh Samui:
Songserm express Seatran express Lomprayah
Ferries also run from the main port “Nathon”, such as the Seatran Car Ferry (1 hour), Seatran Discovery (30 mins), and the Songserm Express (45 mins). From other pier of Koh Samui - Mae Naam pier : Lomprayah Catamaran (20 mins)

The only service direct to Haad Rin is the Haad Rin Queen (1 hr.) which also runs the most frequent service and also has a last boat at 6:30pm from Big Budha pier if you fly in late.

While coming from Suratthani the Night Boat may be able to help out if you don’t want to spend the night there. Leaving at 11:00pm and arriving Koh Pha-Ngan at 5:00am. Departing from Koh Pha-Ngan at 10:00pm and arriving Suratthani at 04:00am.

Government Bus
Most travel agencies will be able to sell an all-in-one ticket from Bangkok to Koh Pha-Ngan which includes the bus and ferry ticket for about 600 Baht per person. The price is low because the journey takes all night and is the least comfortable way to travel. Busses depart from Bangkok at around 7pm, arriving early morning in Suratthani in time for the first ferry to the islands. Coming back, there are numerous ferries, but for the bus you will need to depart no later than 1pm. Usually a shuttle bus will drop passengers off in Suratthani to wait until about 7pm at which time the bus will depart to Bangkok. As a more convenient option consider buying a ticket on the well-organised Government Bus which actually goes on the Raja Ferry and saves time and more comfort changing modes of transport – although it is more expensive and will set you back up to 1,050 Baht.

There are also several other bus routes (mostly via mini-bus) linking Suratthani with other major destinations.

Air
Koh Samui Airport is the most convenient airport, with Bangkok Air flying in over 30 times in a day from Bangkok, Krabi, Phuket, Pattaya, Singapore, Kuala Lumpu or Hong Kong. The last boat leaves to Koh Pha-Ngan from Big Budha Pier at 6:30pm, so for flights arriving later than 5pm, you may have to hire aprivate speedboat or stay in Koh Samui; during Full Moon Party there are boats all night from Samui.
There is Bangkok Air’s special price if you flying in the first and the last flight of the day.

It is cheaper to fly from Bangkok to the government air port at Suratthani especially as One-Two-Go is now offering one-way flights for 1,850 Baht per person, though taxi fares and journey time tend to negate savings. It takes a minimum of 5 hours to get to Kho Phangan from Suratthani Airport and a minimum of 1 hour from Koh Samui.
